Hypercitement
So I guess we’re going to see Morrissey this Sunday out the House of Blues. I know almost nothing other than that he used to front The Smiths, who have a pretty cool sound. It’s been a matter for speculation, since Ginneh got her tickets for B. B. King, not whether but which show I would see out of the awesome March lineup. This weekend alone they’ve got Morrissey, Live, and Shinedown. Seems like everybody wants to rush on back to Lansdowne St for a set now that it’s open again. I am so down with that
My Boston concertgoing experience has taken place mostly in that one neighborhood.
Tomorrow I’m going to try and get in some cardio at the gym, because I’ve been feeding myself poorly this week and thus didn’t have the energy to do it after training sessions. Partly I’ve been too busy at work, partly just not feeling inspired at home. (I suppose I can also blame all the time spent in Manchester for some of it) The pantry is full of healthy yummy things but nothing that’s intended as a stand-alone snack. It’s a little… spare, for the likes of Ginneh and myself.
DC Photos Up
Hm, it’s only two months late. At any rate I feel duty-bound to post something although at this point just about everybody has access to the Facebook album. Here’s a few of the best ones.

Views from the roof. I was tickled by the presence of a Segway in the middle of the high-security zone.

Moar.

This is from the rally held Monday night in Dupont Circle in celebration of W’s exit. An official shamanistic type person was summoned to sage the White House of bad vibes. That yellow thing is supposed to be a prayer flag, I think.

Yeah I know what it looks like, but I assure you it is in fact a giant stick of burning sage and cedar.

Bushocchio standing nearby with a sign on his back that reads “impeach me”.

The gang from left to right: Michelle, Hedda, Kim, Mike, Erica. With a gleam of purpose in his eye, Mike directs us to… something.

Coldcoldcoldcoldcold…

Best seats in the house.

(/me fails at photographing NYC)
As for the rest.. well I really need to install an album browser on this box at some point.
Changelog
So basically here’s what’s happening.
At year’s outset, I made two resolutions: one was to get help to take better physical care of myself; the other was to get help to keep better track of my things and thoughts.
Guess which one I’m making good on
I’d supply a photo from last weekend as a hint, but I don’t make the same striking impression with a couple drinks in me.
Physically, I’ve got more energy now. But with no regimented task schedule and no one coaching me, give and take is immediate. And right now the gym, work, and dating are taking now. More on the latter to be forthcoming.
I still have time that I could be using, but I spend a lot of it dazed in the living room, not really able to focus. The really insistent thoughts get out on Twitter, which is useful but not at all the same thing. Some would call it a different plane of existence. It certainly isn’t a grindstone on which to sharpen writing skills, or a way to practice organized thought.
Incidentally I’ve been feeling slightly less cogent at work. Still productive most of the time, and not lacking for interesting work. But slow to get up to speed. Maintenance work is never as engaging as starting from scratch, and portions of the code base are nearing critical mass for another refactor.
So I’m thinking it’s going to be important to get back on here some more. I can’t play the bigger role I’m positioned for at work if I’m not thinking and communicating at my best–nevermind actually picking back up on side projects. I was thinking of setting 11-12 weeknights as standard blog time, although I’m fuzzy on some details, like whether it’s better to post every night or only when I’ve completed something.
Either way, it’s getting harder not to run my mouth all the time. The Manchester crowd is re-infecting me with nerdly enthusiasm I think.
Ok back to watching Kurau. Possibly, Morrissey at HOB Boston this weekend.
